zamrate saw the light 7 years ago. It was built for fun by two students deeply involved in
computer music/coding. Some may ask what's the meaning of the name, but there's none.
At the beginning we used 2 amiga 500's using protracker to make some lousy hardcore tracks. it
became more or less serious when we got our first sampler emu esi-32 (which is absolute
crap) and an akai s-2000. zamrate is a bit of a special group; in fact we both only work
separately, we never do a track together (except from making suggestions one to another) and we both have our
own style. one of the main characteristics of zamrate's music is that we mainly create our
own sounds using soft-synthesizers and do not sample many sounds except for some drums (often
808/909).
zamrate's style is hard to define because it changes constantly. some tracks are techno,
others may be more experimental, it depends on who of us did them in which situation ...
zamrate's first demotape was released 2 years ago and was only available at mono records.
our second release is a cd with only 4 tracks (to decrease the manufacturing price)
which is available now at most record shops in the city and was pressed 300 times.
perhaps we'll also release a new cd with new stuff, who knows...
We are also ready to do live acts like at the MELTING SESSION 3contact : zamrate@hotmail.com
